Mr. Lai Mohammed, the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, will be leading Nigerian delegation to this year’s Cable, Broadcast and Satellite (CABSAT 2016) event scheduled to hold at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from March 8-9, 2016.
The Minister confirmed his attendance to be part of the foremost broadcast technology and satellite showcase to discuss issues pertaining to Digital Switch Over (DSO) as well as creating, monetizing and distributing broadcast content.
The 22nd edition of CABSAT – the leading platform for the broadcast, production, content delivery, digital media and satellite sectors across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) – represents disruptive innovation and monetisation opportunities across the MEASA filmed and audio entertainment media market.
On her part, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), which for the first time in 22 years will host the Nigeria Pavilion at CABSAT, has again used the opportunity to reassure of its readiness to ensuring that the Nigeria broadcast media live up to best global standards in quality content delivery.
The Nigerian broadcast regulator gave this indication as part of its strategic partnership with Transatlantic Media Company – the Official West Africa CABSAT 2016 Event sales and media partners.

According to NBC, introduction of ‘The Content Marketplace’ to this year’s CABSAT event in Dubai where the broadcast regulator will be leading for the first time Nigeria’s participation brings an innovative dimension to the place of content in the new era of digital broadcasting.
‘The Content Marketplace’ will collocate with CABSAT and focuses on the buying, selling and exchange of all filmed entertainment content. The event will bring together the world and participating region’s leading producers, studios, productions houses, film and TV directors in a unique event platform.
On his part, Bayero Agabi, President of Transatlantic Media Company says that TMC’s partnership with NBC will strive to improve quality of broadcast content production.
According to Agabi, “to maximize the social-economic benefits that come with digital migration, content producers and media outfits most take advantage of new opportunities and the platform offered by CABSAT.”
He adds that broadcast technocrats and content producers would be attracted to deliberate on the future of Africa’s cable, broadcast and satellite prospects.

NBC recently signed a Memoradum of Understanding (MoU) with TMC in collaboration with the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai in order to maximize the new opportunities in the broadcast media during the 22nd edition of Cable, Broadcast and Satellite (CABSAT) event.
