Heritage Bank has said that its newly-introduced portable POS will be given to customers for free.
The solution is app-based and operates on mobile devices and the bank said the innovation would enable it to provide more integrated payment experience.
“The Nigerian retail and corporate market is undergoing a massive transformation in a battle for digital consumers who shop through a variety of channels, and as such expect a more integrated payment experience that is quick, seamless, convenient, and most importantly secure”, Niyi Adeseun, executive director, Manila Banking, Heritage Bank says.
The solution is app-based and operates on mobile devices and accepts various card types including MasterCard, VISA and Verve.
It operates as a regular mobile phone but comes with a battery that last longer. The device could also be synchronized with phones and printer via Bluetooth connectivity. It also offers customers three ticketing options email, SMS and print.
According to the bank, “today, small businesses and large retailers are turning to mobile point of sale (or mPOS) to increase sales and broaden their customer base.”
