The new owners of Konga have asked Nick Imudia, the new CEO of the e-commerce company to take the African number one spot.
The new CEO of Konga resumed duty Monday after he was hired by Zinox Technologies, the Nigerian technology group founded by Nigerian businessman, Leo Stan Ekeh, that closed the acquisition deal of the e-commerce industry big player.
However the new owners of Konga have set an ambitious quest to become the biggest e-commerce company in Africa, following the deal, underscoring Zinox’s big push into the online business landscape beyond its traditional business of tech distributions, retail and manufacturing, among others.
Following the Konga acquisition announced a few weeks ago, the new owners of Konga says that Imudia formerly Vice President of Nokia resumes today to lead the Nigerian e-commerce industry player “with a clear mandate to deliver Konga as number one e-Commerce company in Africa.”
Imudia replaces former CEO, Shola Adekoya, who resumes at the Zinox Group headquarters in Lagos as Head of Future Business, the company says in a statement announcing the change of guards in Konga.
Imudia recently left TCL/Alcatel where he was the Regional Director, responsible for Nigeria and Central Africa Operations.
Before joining TCL/Alcatel, Imudia was Managing Director, Nokia West and Central Africa, a thriving concern which remains a world leader in Mobility, driving the transformation and growth of the converging Internet and Communications industry.
For almost 17 years, the widely-travelled Imudia worked in Nokia, managing operations in Asia, Europe and the Americas in the areas of sales, marketing, capability development, management systems, operational excellence, IT and process management, according to his CV made available to Technology Times.
According to to the company, ”his core experience across several management functions including online commerce, among others will come in handy in steering the Konga brand to greater heights.”
Imudia holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Management from Mikkeli Institute of Technology, Finland; a Master of Engineering in Oil and Gas Technology Management from Aalborg University, Denmark and an MBA in International Business Management, Haaga-Helia Business School, Finland.
