[sociallocker]Nigeria, the official information portal of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and key online information gateway for the country has been suspended on the Internet.
Technology Times can authoritatively confirm that following the website suspension the information gateway of the Nigerian government on the Internet, has barred access of cyber visitors to information about the activities of government and other socio-cultural information on the country.

The reason for the suspension of the Nigerian Internet information gateway is yet to be confrimed by Technology Times but web checks reveal that the online resource is managed by the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, the nation’s image maker Ministry.

According to whois records for the website, Ministry of Information and Communication (now Information and Culture) are listed as registrars while the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the nation’s IT implementing agency, is listed as the Sponsoring Organisation for the registration of the suspended website.
The online real estate of the Nigerian government is believed to be managed by a local technology company based in Abuja while it is hosted with SingleHop, a U.S. web hosting company, according to web records of the Nigeria portal.
