Phase3 Telecom Deepens Digital Infrastructure Spending, Jegede says

Phase3 Telecom is expanding its digital infrastructure spending to tap growing connectivity needs across West Africa, Stanley Jegede, Executive Chairman of the tech firm says.

Phase3 Telecom, which recently clocked its 18th year of market debut as an independent aerial fibre optic network infrastructure and telecoms services provider hopes to drive digital transformation stakes across the sub-region, according to him.

“To achieve this,” Jegede says, “Phase3 has invested in state-of-the-art digital infrastructure to significantly improve connectivity in the ECOWAS region and other international markets. In doing so, Phase3 expanded its suite of managed services, products and solutions/innovations to bridge the digital divide in Africa.”

Phase3 was awarded the Broadband Service Provider of The Year at the Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA), in a recognition that validates the tech firm’s leadership position, Jegede says.

The Phase3 Telecom Executive Chairman who made the comments in a statement made available to Technology Times, says that the tech firm’s mission to expand connectivity was recently awarded two prestigious technology awards.

Phase3 Telecom, according to Jegede, received the Best Fibre Optic Infrastructure Service Provider award at the Cyber Africa Awards. “This marks the company’s third award category win and fourth recognition by Cyber Africa across its platforms since 2011 for its continuing industry contributions within the telecommunications and technology spaces. In the same period, Phase3 was awarded the Broadband Service Provider of The Year at the Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA).”

NiTA, he says is an award ceremony organised to recognise, celebrate and reward Technology entrepreneurs, innovators, academicians, inventors and policy makers (Government) in Nigeria through online voting.” The Awards aims to build a large-scale and internationally recognised Technology Awards in Nigeria and is organised by Technology Avenue, a leading technology, media, events & entertainment management company.

Jegede says the awards are an auspicious recognition in the wake of the company’s 18th year of business operations. “These awards reaffirm our team’s commitment to investing and innovating to foster digital transformation; engender top value for clients and strengthen our vision to firmly establish West Africa as a powerhouse in global technology and telecommunications play.”

The awards reinforce the company’s mission to provide excellent services to connect people and businesses for the socio-economic development of Africa.

Over the last 18 years, Jegede adds, Phase3 Telecom has grown to become a leading independent fibre optic infrastructure with Points-of-Presence (POPs), co-location, and NOCs in Nigeria.

The tech firm was issued a National Long Distance Operator (NLDO) licence in 2003 by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and provide high-performance, data-intensive and low latency connectivity that span dedicated internet access, MPLS VPN, metro ethernet, wide area network solutions e.t.c. We currently operate across the ECOWAS region and international markets through strategic partnerships that allow us to connect our clients across 400 cities worldwide, he says.

“Ours is an extensive and secure network”, Jegede says, “with end-to-end capabilities that service providers and businesses can rely on to scale, manage costs and assure efficiency. As our network continues to evolve into other layered service streams, including cloud-based and network security solutions – our invaluable clients will continue to remain the core of every investment that we make; innovation that we create; and technology that we adopt during the 4th industrial revolution to position us as the network of the future.”
